Solskjaer responds when asked if Pogba will be fit for Man Utd trip to Tottenham

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said Paul Pogba will be fit to play for Manchester United against Tottenham this weekend.

United are set for their toughest test since Solskjaer took over from Jose Mourinho last month, coming up against Mauricio Pochettino’s high-flying Spurs at Wembley on Sunday.

Pogba missed United’s FA Cup victory over Reading last weekend after suffering an injury against Newcastle United, and there had been suggestions the Frenchman could be out for the Tottenham trip.

But Solskjaer has confirmed Pogba completed more than one training session with the rest of the team in Dubai this week, revealing he will be fit to play against Spurs.

“[Pogba] looked OK towards the end so he’ll be fit,” Solskjaer said in a press conference (via FourFourTwo).

“He did have some problem but he came through the last couple of sessions well. He’ll be OK.”

Tottenham won the reverse fixture 3-0 at Old Trafford back in August thanks to a Harry Kane header and Lucas Moura’s brace, a result that ultimately contributed to Mourinho’s sacking.

Pochettino has been linked with the permanent United job, which will be available again at the end of the season, and there will be plenty of talk about his credentials to take over from Solskjaer after Sunday’s game – regardless of the result.
