PETERBOROUGH have stepped up their interest in Bradford’s on-loan star Jack Payne.
SunSport reported last week Millwall were keen on the Huddersfield playmaker who has impressed during his stint at Valley Parade.
The 24-year-old’s displays in League One have caught the eye scoring eight times in 26 games from midfield.
Huddersfield value Payne £500,000 despite their man having six months left on his current deal.
And now the Posh have enquired about the stylish midfielder’s availability this month to help their promotion charge in the second half of the season.
Payne is not in David Wagner’s long-term plans at the John Smith’s Stadium and is keen for his future to be resolved.

Posh boss Steve Evans is keen to make additions this month and is hoping his side genuine push for promotion to the Championship can convince the former Spurs trainee to move to London Road.
Evans was able to run the rule over Payne himself during the 4-4 FA Cup second round replay in Yorkshire his side eventually won on penalties.
Despite the Bantams struggles, Payne has been one of their shining lights this season and is keen to test himself at a higher level.
Luton were monitoring his situation but a potential move to Kenilworth Road is off now Nathan Jones has replaced Gary Rowett at Stoke.
