POLICE are appealing to fans who may have any footage of Joey Barton’s alleged tunnel attack on Barnsley boss Daniel Stendel.
SunSport told you Fleetwood Town manager Barton is alleged to have assaulted Stendel and knocked out two of his teeth.
South Yorkshire Police have launched an investigation into what went on following Barnsley’s 4-2 win at Oakwell.
Sky Sports footage showed police physically preventing Barton from leaving the ground.
And now cops want to know if any fans caught the fracas on their phones.
A South Yorkshire Police statement said: “Police investigating reports of an assault at Barnsley Football Club on Saturday 13 April are appealing for witnesses as enquiries continue.
“The incident is believed to have taken place in the tunnel around 5pm, following the conclusion of Barnsley’s match against Fleetwood Town, and left one man with facial injuries.
“At this time, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
“Were you at the game on Saturday with a view, or in the area, of the tunnel? Did you see what happened?
“Officers are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have caught the incident on camera or who may have any mobile phone footage immediately before or after the incident occurred.
“If you think you can help, please call 101 quoting incident number 326 of 13 April 2019.”
Barnsley have lodged an official complaint to the EFL. It was claimed Stendel needed emergency surgery on his teeth.
In a statement posted on their official website, Barnsley wrote: “Barnsley Football Club can confirm that it has lodged a formal complaint to both the English Football League and the Football Association.

“This is following an alleged incident at the conclusion of the match on Saturday 13th April, between Joey Barton and Daniel Stendel.
“The Club is also currently working with the police and assisting with all enquiries regarding the incident.
“No further comment will be issued whilst police investigations are ongoing.”
