A LEEDS fan will be constantly reminded of their play-off heartbreak after jumping the gun and getting a promotion tattoo on his shoulder.
Jamie Richardson, from West Yorkshire, was so confident that his side were heading for the Premier League that he inked his prediction on his body.
The tattoo read: “Leeds United 2019 Championship play-off winners.”
There were also the words: “In Bielsa we trust.”
Leeds, who were taking a 1-0 aggregate lead into their second-leg at home, endured a major collapse in the second half as Frank Lampard’s Derby booked their Wembley spot.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side even doubled their advantage in the first half before the visitors ran riot to win 4-2 on the night.
And now Richardson will be coming to regret his decision as they brace themselves for another season in the Championship.
Chatting to the BBC before the fixture he revealed how he was certain his side would “rip Derby to bits.”
He said: “My name’s Jamie, I’m that confident Leeds are getting promoted I’ve been and had this done.
“I just felt like the team needed a bit of a boost. The fans needed a little bit of a boost. So I went and got that tattoo done.
“We’ll completely rip them [Derby] to bits. Generally it’s simply written within the stars.”

Obviously he had little sympathy from Derby supporters on Twitter.
One said: “Where’s the Leeds fan with his tattoo “Playoff winners” now?”
Another added: “Well the idiot that had the Leeds tattoo mustfeel a bit of a t*** now.”
And a third said: “And the winner for the world’s worst tattoo goes to……”
