ARSENAL have been handed a horror start to the season.

The Gunners open their Premier League campaign at Newcastle and face three of the ‘Big Six’ in their first seven matches.

After Burnley at home, Unai Emery’s side go to Liverpool before entertaining North London rivals Tottenham.

That’s followed by a tough trip to Watford and a home game against newly promoted Aston Villa.

Emery will then take his side to Manchester United to wrap up the first two months of the season.

Arsenal were forced to endure a nightmare start to the season last campaign when they faced Man City and Chelsea in their opening two matches.

Other notable fixtures include a Boxing Day trip to Bournemouth and a visit to Man United on New Year’s Day.

Their first game against Chelsea takes place at the Emirates on December 28 with the reverse fixture less than a month later.

If Arsenal are to be challenging for a top four spot at the end of the season then their run-in will be crucial.

Their last four games sees them take on Spurs, Liverpool, Villa and Watford.
