Lazio are demanding £44.5 million for goalkeeper and Tottenham Hotspur target Thomas Strakosha, according to reports in Italy.

Earlier this week, we relayed reports suggesting Lazio may be willing to sell Strakosha for just £22 million with Spurs interested in signing the 24-year-old.

However, Italian outlet Il Messaggero (via The Laziali) claims the Serie A club want more than double that amount for their goalkeeper.

It is believed Arsenal and West Ham also hold an interest in Strakosha, who conceded 39 goals in 35 Serie A appearances this season, keeping 10 clean sheets.

There’s no way Spurs will be spending £44.5 million on a goalkeeper this summer with other positions clearly taking the priority.

Despite mistakes creeping into his game over the last couple of years, Hugo Lloris is still a very reliable player between the sticks and will remain first-choice in the 2019/20 season.

That said, Tottenham do need a new third-choice goalkeeper following the exit of Michel Vorm on a free transfer, unless Mauricio Pochettino promotes youngster Alfie Whiteman.

Strakosha would be ideal but he will not want to be third-choice, and the fee Lazio are demanding all but rules out a deal.
