Paper Talk: Liverpool ready £90m raid for midfield dynamo and classy full-back; star nears world-record Man Utd deal

By | 7th July 2019

Liverpool look in a strong position to make two impressive signings from LaLiga, while Man Utd are readying a huge new contract for a major star, according to Sunday’s newspapers.

LIVERPOOL WANT SPAIN U21 STARS TO MOVE TO ANFIELD

Liverpool are ready to make a move to sign Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos, according to reports on Sunday.

The midfielder recently helped Spain to glory at the Under-21 Championships and is keen to leave the Bernabeu for more first-team football this coming season.

The player has been mentioned as a target for Tottenham, but the Independent on Sunday, via reports in the Spanish media, claims it is Liverpool, who are leading the chase.

The report claims Liverpool are expected to secure the player in a £45m deal, but that Real will only sanction the deal if the European champions include a buy-back option as part of the transfer.

While the Reds were reluctant, it’s now suggested they are willing to accept Real’s terms as Jurgen Klopp is such a huge fan of the midfielder’s dynamism.

Mundo Deportivo, meanwhile, also claim Liverpool are in the market to sign his Spain Under-21 teammate Junior Firpo.

The pacy defender has attracted interest from Liverpool and Barcelona, but it’s claimed the Merseysiders are very much in the hunt to sign the Real Betis man in a £45m deal, with the player capable of covering at both left-back and right-back.
