TOTTENHAM are lining up a £30million transfer bid for Leeds star Kalvin Phillips – after already poaching Jack Clarke, according to reports.
And they can give the promise of Champions League football – as well as the chance to develop under the eye of boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Spurs – who are also said to have hijacked Arsenal’s bid for William Saliba – paid Leeds £8.5m for teenager winger Clarke – their first signing in 518 days – who will remain on loan at Elland Road next season.
Leeds, who will remain in the Championship in the new campaign after losing to Derby in the play-off semi-final, now face a battle to keep Phillips.
And it has emerged that Spurs will go to war with Newcastle over acquiring Phillips’ services.
Aston Villa are another club who have made their interest known but they reportedly saw an £11m bid rebuffed.
Bournemouth and Wolves were also linked but it is believed that their interest is cooling.
Working in Leeds’ favour is the fact that Phillips, who was born in Leeds, is a lifelong fan of the club and thought to be unwilling to push for a move away.

However, he is said to have rejected Leeds’ first proposal of a new offer and they will table him a new one in the hope he says yes to staying put.
Phillips, who has been with the side since 2010, played all 90 minutes of Leeds’ 2-1 friendly win over Guiseley last night.
And he will fly out with Marcelo Bielsa’s squad for their tour of Australia next week.
