REAL MADRID are hoping Manchester United can pull off a deal to land Christian Eriksen because it increases their chances of signing Paul Pogba, according to reports.
A crazy last-gasp transfer scramble could see a host of world-class footballers make moves to rival European clubs.
Manchester United have been locked in late talks for Spurs’ contract rebel Eriksen as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer plans one more big-name signing.
The Danish playmaker handed in a transfer request at the end of last season after outlining his desire for a new challenge.
Spurs would consider cashing in if they receive an offer of £50m or risk losing him for nothing next year.
But a deal remains a long shot because Eriksen would prefer a move abroad – ironically to Real Madrid.
But Zinedine Zidane has prioritised signing Pogba and are ready to make one final attempt in this window.
latest Manchester United news
The Frenchman has been in their sights all summer but have been unable to convince United to cash in despite his willingness to leave.
According to Marca, Real Madrid are convinced that United would cash in on their £89m man if they pull off a deal to land Eriksen.
The Spanish transfer window remains open until September 2 meaning they still have time to sign Pogba.
