JURGEN KLOPP confirmed Liverpool fears that star goalkeeper Alisson had suffered a calf injury and declared: It doesn’t look good.
The incident happened eight minutes from half-time in the Reds’ 4-1 victory against newly-promoted Norwich City.
Alisson clutched at the back of his calf after collapsing onto the floor following a routine kick out field.
A worried Klopp confirmed the Brazilian shot-stopper would miss Wednesday’s Super Cup final against Chelsea.
He told Sky Sports: “Ali’s situation was as a shadow on the game.
“He thought something hit him in the calf, which is never a good sign.
“That means it’s probably a bit more than a strain. We have to make the diagnosis in the morning, we don’t know it yet.
“It doesn’t look too good. We bought Adrian in for situations like that and he did the job. His calmness helps us a lot but we have a problem at No. 3 so we have to think again.”
There are fears Alisson could face months on the sidelines after the freak accident.
The incident follows Millwall keeper Frank Fielding being sidelined until the new year after a similar injury to his quad last week.
Alisson was an integral member of Jurgen Klopp’s team that won the Champions League and came runner-up in the Premier League.
But the German coach may have to rely on summer signing Adrian who only joined Liverpool four days ago.
Spaniard Adrian was brought in on a free transfer as back-up to Alisson to replace Simon Mignolet, who joined Club Bruges.
