OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER held talks with Tottenham ace Christian Eriksen over a potential transfer, according to reports.
Eriksen, 27, has less than 12 months left on his current deal and it appears likely he will leave the North London club in the near future.
The Red Devils ended up pulling the plug on a move after learning of Eriksen’s desire to play in Spain.
He is holding out for a move to either Real Madrid or Atletico and is prepared to see out his contract if it means joining one of the two clubs.
Real manager Zinedine Zidane remains interested in Eriksen but Paul Pogba is his first choice.
Despite the Premier League transfer window being shut, European clubs can still sign players from England until the end of the month.

Spurs are reportedly ready to offer Eriksen one last offer in a bid to entice him to stay.
The Dane currently earns around £80k-a-week but the North Londoners are considering putting a £200k-a-week deal on the table.
Even if he did sign a new Spurs deal, it is said he would demand the inclusion of a sell-on clause to allow him to fulfil his dream of playing elsewhere if a big club stumped up the cash.
