RENATO SANCHES did his best Engelbert Humperdinck impression on Friday as he begged Bayern Munich: “Please release me, let me go.”
Once considered as the hottest young prospect in European football, Sanches’ career has stumbled in recent years and he’s in search of a move.

The 22-year-old flopped on loan at Swansea in the 2017-18 season when then boss Carlos Carvalhal said he had a “very bad season”.
And after making a five-minute cameo against Hertha Berlin on Friday, Sanches told Sport1: “Five minutes is not enough.
“The situation is not good for me, this is the second time I have wanted to leave the club and they have not let me go.”
Sanches won the prestigious Golden Ball award in 2016, a trophy voted by sports journalists for the best player in Europe under the age of 21.
Previous winners include Lionel Messi, Cesc Fabregas, Wayne Rooney, Raheem Sterling, Paul Pogba and Rafael van der Vaart.
Barcelona new boy Matthijs de Ligt won the award last year, while France’s World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe picked up the gong the year before.
But Sanches has struggled to progress in the past three seasons and appears to feel like he will be unable to at the Allianz Arena.
He has played 53 matches for Bayern since arriving from Benfica in 2016.

And yet, it is unlikely after Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge hit back at Sanches’ comments.
He said: “It is not appropriate that you run away so angry here after the first or second game.”
“We will not sell him, that will not work, he would do well to calm down.”
