PAUL POGBA suffered vile racist abuse and death threats on social media after missing a crucial penalty for Manchester United against Wolves.
The French midfielder pulled rank over Marcus Rashford with the scores tied at Molineux but his effort was saved by keeper Rui Patricio.
It was the fourth spot-kick the £89m man has missed in the past year and straight away he was subjected to a tirade of sick posts on Twitter.
One post read: “Pogba you f****** n*****.” Another wrote: “Pogba is a dirty n*****.”
One disgusting jibe threatened to “kill that b****** f****** gorilla.”
SunSport saw dozens of similar Tweets in the aftermath of the 1-1 draw.
It marks the third time in the last week that a footballer has been been racially abused on social media.
Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham was the subject of sick posts after missing the final penalty against Liverpool in Wednesday’s Super Cup in Istanbul.
And Reading midfielder Yakou Meite exposed an online troll who branded him a “f****** monkey” after his side’s 3-0 win over Cardiff on Sunday.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was quick to defend Pogba for his role in the penalty incident.
The Norwegian said: “The two of them are penalty takers and it’s up to them to say, ‘This is mine’. It won’t change.
“When there are two names there, it’s the one who’s the most confident and Paul has scored so many before — so absolutely no problem.”
