Tottenham v Crystal Palace: match preview

Tottenham laboured to score in their previous home games against Aston Villa and Newcastle while looking vulnerable on the counter-attack and there is no doubt that Crystal Palace will present a similar challenge. Mauricio Pochettino has suggested that the season starts now for his team, with the European transfer window closed along with the attendant uncertainty, and he has to hope they can find greater energy and incision. Palace have not scored in the league at Spurs in six attempts. David Hytner
