NEIL LENNON has revealed he DID want to bring Victor Wanyama back to Celtic.
The Kenyan midfielder, 28, looked poised to quit Spurs before the end of the European transfer window.
Celts were heavily linked with a loan deal, while Club Brugge failed to lure him to Belgium despite having a £12million offer accepted.
And Hoops boss Lennon hinted he could reignite his interest in the former fans’ favourite in January.
He said: “There was interest but it never got off the ground.
“Could we look at it again in January? We’ll have to wait and see.
“We might not want to with the balance of the squad now, as well as the affordability.”
Meanwhile Lennon delivered an injury update on Aussie winger Daniel Arzani.
The on loan Man City youngster hasn’t played since suffering a ACL tear on his debut last November.
But the 20-year-old will take part in a reserve game in the next stage of his road to recovery.
He said: “Daniel’s nearly fit.
“He will get 40 minutes in that and needs match fitness before coming into the squad.”
