ZINEDINE ZIDANE has inflamed his war of words with Paris Saint-Germain – by telling them their striker Kylian Mbappe’s dream is to play for Real Madrid.
PSG warned the France World Cup winner and Real boss not to talk up a move for the £168million forward.
Trying to clarify his comments, the Los Blancos chief said: “I simply said what Mbappe said: that his dream was to wear the white shirt. I said it, I say it again and I will say it as many times as I want.”
Zidane unsuccessfully chased the 20-year-old hitman over the summer.
Real were reportedly ready to make a £258m offer in 2020.
In the meantime, PSG are in talks to increase Mbappe’s wages to a stunning £34.5m-a-year.
That would put him on similar wages to Neymar.
The Spanish giants were even looking to offer Gareth Bale to try and tempt PSG into a deal.
PSG sporting director Leonardo has told Zidane to keep his mouth shut on Mbappe’s future.
Mbappe is also being chased by Barcelona as they look for Luis Suarez’s long-term replacement.
Manchester United are also potential suitors, along with Juventus who have a £200m treasure chest from their sponsors for a major new signing.
But the French giants, funded by Qatari billions, say they will not sell their prized asset.
Mbappe hit a stunning 33 goals in 29 Ligue 1 games last term.
