MAURICIO POCHETTINO wants the Manchester United job over the Arsenal gig, according to reports.
The former Spurs boss was axed by the White Hart Lane club last month and is thought to be looking for a swift return to management.
And according to the Manchester Evening News, Poch would prefer to take over at Old Trafford.
He was tipped to replace Jose Mourinho last year before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer impressed during his interim reign.
But with the pressure mounting on the Norwegian, it may not be long before Ed Woodward pulls the trigger and tries to bring in Pochettino – who is also a shock target for Arsenal.
The Gunners sacked Unai Emery on Friday with Freddie Ljungberg placed in charge temporarily.
And despite his connections with Spurs, Pochettino could be a target for the Emirates side.
As revealed by SunSport, Solskjaer told his players he will be axed if they lose against Tottenham and Manchester City this week.
But he remained positive about his future in his press conference this morning.
Solskjaer said: “It’s that time of year, it’s never nice to see your colleagues lose your jobs.
“Three in a very short space of time. Some of them, you can talk about this VAR all day long, I don’t know what the reasons are behind the sackings at different clubs, but one result – Southampton-Watford – with the handball, and we’re talking about something completely different.
“It’s a game of margins. Sometimes you have luck, sometimes you don’t. But it doesn’t make me any more concerned.”
