Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is looking to bolster his attack following the loss of Harry Kane, with three players on his radar according to a report.

Kane is out for the foreseeable future after limping off in Wednesday’s 1-0 defeat to Southampton, with Spurs confirming on Friday that the England captain suffered a torn left hamstring.

While Tottenham are not short of attacking options – with the likes of Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura still available – they now lack a senior recognised striker.

Youngster Troy Parrott is one consideration to step in, although Mourinho has admitted that it would be “too soon” to think about giving the 17-year-old such a role.

Instead, ESPN claims that Spurs are interested in Inter Milan striker Gabriel Barbosa, while Calciomercato and Kicker say that AC Milan’s Krzysztof Piatek and Borussia Dortmund’s Paco Alcacer – respectively – are on a shortlist.

Barbosa made a name for himself towards the back end of a loan spell with Brazilian club Flamengo last year, when he scored two late goals to win his side the Copa Libertadores and a place in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup.

Piatek scored 22 goals in 37 Serie A appearances last season – including nine for his current employers following a January move from Genoa – and has four in 17 games so far this term.

The 24-year-old has also been linked with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United in recent months following his good spell of form.

As for Alcacer, the Spanish international has netted seven times in 15 games this campaign but could lose his place after Erling Braut Haaland’s arrival from RB Salzburg.

Meanwhile, Mourinho has insisted that he and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will have to be “intelligent” in the January transfer market.

The Portuguese has reiterated on numerous occasions that he will not conduct an overhaul of his team this month, but along with the three aforementioned names, the likes of Max Aarons and Vedat Muqiri have also been linked.

Mourinho said: “This is our first transfer window, not the last. We are going to have one in the summer, we are going to have one in 2021 January, we are going to have another one in the summer of 2021.

“So this is not our last transfer window. We are going to have to try to be intelligent and we have to try to make the right decisions, not just for now, but for the development of a cycle.”
