SPORTING Lisbon have trolled Manchester United over their failure to seal Bruno Fernandes’ transfer by sharing a picture of him training with the words “Job done”.
The Portuguese side released a photo of the midfielder hard at work in club colours yesterday.
It comes after United chiefs met with their Sporting counterparts last week.
But the job is far from done with Fernandes not yet putting pen to paper on a proposed five-year contract.
A £51million transfer fee should land the playmaker but latest reports suggest a player-plus-cash deal could still be in the offing.
Red Devil flops Andreas Pereira and Marcos Rojo are both named as potential makeweights to head in the opposite direction.
However Fernerbahce’s interest in defender Rojo is said to be holding up his end of the deal.
Fernandes is expected to earn £100,000-a-week when he does land in Manchester, with the final confirmation likely to occur by the end of the week.
But Sporting’s social media post appeared to poke fun at expectant United fans wanting to see their club complete another major acquisition.
Reds fans desperate for the move to go through quickly hit back.
Ernest wrote on Twitter: “Give us our man.”
Another fan commented: “You had to, didn’t you?”

JS added: “If he gets injured I will say and do unspeakable things.”
While Omkar posted: “What is he doing in Sporting training camp? Release him now.”
And one United supporter began their own mini campaign with the hashtag: “#FreeBruno.”
