And his performances have caught the eye of United according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.

They claim that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are interested in luring the Portuguese international to Old Trafford.

It has been stated that the Norweigian is a huge fan of the ex-Porto loanee.

The report also adds how United have admired Jota for some time, with the club appreciating how consistent he is in terms of his displays.

It has been widely spoken of how United are keen to strengthen their forward line in the summer.

Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho is believed to be the club’s No1 target, with the player seemingly set to depart the Bundesliga side in the near future.

Solskjaer recently stated how potentially missing out on Champions League football won’t have an affect on the club’s transfer activities.

He said: “The Champions League gives the club more resources, more money, that’s one thing. It’s a prestigious tournament to be in, of course.

“But doing as well as we can, and if we play well the rest of the season, and players that we might want are impressed by that, it might be easier to convince them to come here.

“But I don’t think one season – this season is the Europa League – if next season is with or without the Champions League, I wouldn’t say that’s the be all and end all for a player to sign for us.”
