The newly introduced tab is the mid-size version of the Galaxy Tab 3 series whose line up includes a 7-inch and a 10.1-inch screen size.

The 316-gram Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 is 0.74 centimeters thick whereas the 7-inch Tab and 10.1-inch are 0.8 centimeters and over in thickness. Its 12.3 centimeters width allows people with small palms use their smart device comfortably.
CAMERA
This newest member of the tab family is unbeatable among other if we talk camera-wise. The device comes with a 1.3 megapixel front camera and a 5 megapixel rear camera. This is far higher resolution than the 3 megapixel rear camera in the 7-inch and 10.1-inch Tab.
SCREEN
It has a small screen but this 8-inch Tab matches the 10.1-inch Tab’s screen resolution of 1,280 by 800, which is above the 7-inch’s 1,024 by 600. The Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 also supports dual view, enabling people to open two windows, including videos, simultaneously.
SPEED
It may disappoint you a little on this front. It runs at a slightly slower 1.5 gigahertz CPU speed compared to the 10.1 inch’s 1.6 gigahertz CPU speed. The tablet runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 and is embedded with 1.5 gigabytes of RAM.
PLASTIC CASING
The smartly constructed plastic casing gives it a classy look. But the only weak point of the casing is the narrow bezel. With 0.71 cm width, users are left with very little room to hold the frame on the side. This makes your fingers end up accidentally swiping the screen. Also when held horizontally, fingers end up brushing with the menu and back buttons, causing open pages to return to previous ones.
SMART APP
The 8-inch tab comes with latest native application of Samsung including the exciting Group Play, which allows people to sync the music playing on their Tab with other nearby Samsung mobile devices with the app.
