Star formation are more energetic than previously thought
From newborn stars flows of material that lights up when it encounters the surrounding gas.
On this new recording of the telescope "Alma" two such matter jets are seen. Astronomers detected based on the new data show that these jets are much faster and more energetic than previously thought. The material reaches speeds of up to one million kilometers per hour.
