Water detected on dwarf planet Ceres, There is water on Ceres

From some of the images collected by the space telescope Hersche and revised ESA would arrive evidence of the presence of water vapor on the surface of nano asteroid Ceres.

Ceres, the smallest dwarf planet in the solar system, contains water vapor. This was demonstrated by a team of researchers from observations of Herschel probe of the European Space Agency (ESA) in a newly published study in the journal Nature.

Ceres is the largest asteroid belt or main object, a region between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter which houses hundreds of celestial bodies. But unlike most asteroids, Ceres has a nearly spherical shape and therefore belongs to the category of dwarf planet, the same in which Pluto is from 2006.

The discovery of water on Ceres is important, the authors of the research, because it reinforces the theory that part of the ocean water on Earth came to Earth aboard asteroids.
