Alex and Sierra Flaunt 'Toxic' Love On 'X Factor' Season Premiere Watch.Here-Tottenhamnews

Did you love this romantic duo as much as the judges? Watch their audition, then vote!

When you tune into The X Factor, you expect to fall in love with a few contestants — but you don’t expect to fall in love with contestants who have already fallen in love with each other! Allow me to explain: The Sept. 11 season premiere introduced us to musical duo Alex & Sierra, a boyfriend and girlfriend who make sweet music together, both literally and metaphorically.

From the moment Alex Kinsey, 21, and Sierra Deaton, 22, stepped onto the stage, you knew something big was coming.

“We decided to come and audition together because I think that the chemistry that we have on stage is something special that you don’t see a lot,” Alex explained to the cameras.

And, boy, was he right.

We’ve seen Britney Spears‘ “Toxic” done a few different ways on Fox — including Glee‘s fun-but-inappropriate-for-school version — but Alex and Sierra’s rendition took the 2003 hit to a whole new level.

Sierra’s airy vocals, combined with Alex’s background and chilling falsetto, made for a truly engaging show. Add to that the passion you felt between the couple, and it brought to mind Scarlett and Gunnar’s performance of “If I Didn’t Know Better” from the Nashville pilot. (And now I’ve officially met my quota for obscure TV song references.)

“You’re really in love, aren’t you?” Simon Cowell asked, to which Alex immediately replied, “Indeed.”

Kelly Rowland added, “Y’all are really cute.”

And those praises came before the performance. Once the duo had finished singing, the judges continued lavishing them with compliments.

“I have the chills up and down my legs, because not only are you talented, but you’re so down to earth,” Demi Lovato told the pair. “I’m rooting for you! You’re so cute together; there’s magic.”

HollywoodLife.com was able to speak to the cute couple, take a peek at what they had to say about their experience so far.

When it came to doing Britney Spears “Toxic”, was that your first choice or were you going to try something else?

Alex – We had quite a few! But Sierra really, really love ‘Toxic” and I just happen to know every word to the song so we played around with it and it really came together.

Sierra – We have a bunch of covers, but the night before we auditioned that one really came together more then the others.

Did your relationship blossom with the help of music or did you find music together?

Alex – I have been performing for quite a few years and Sierra has been singing and performing since she was in high school in theater. Music has been with us for a long time and when we started dating, we both realized that we could both sing and perform and I started bringing her on stage with me and i think it has really strengthened our relationship.

Sierra – For me to, I was really wasn’t really confident enough and didn’t pursue it. So when we started dating and he would pull me on stage and we would get a big response. It made me more confident and I enjoyed it more. I wasn’t second guessing myself. In every relationship, I think if you have something in common or share a passion it makes things a lot easier.

Alex – To be on stage with somebody or with a friend or whatever it is really calms you down and to share that experience is better then to do it alone.

In a show like The X Factor, sometimes they separate the groups into single acts and vice versa, if the show separates you both and you go it alone, would you be OK with that?

Alex – We are going to always be a package deal. In my opinion the thing that really sets us apart is that we are together! I don’t think that we would be interesting competing on our own. I don’t think we would have that right talent. That is not what we are about. There is a lot of talent on these shows and people we have seen from the past that I don’t think we would be good going it alone.

Sierra – Yeah, I mean we both love music on our own but we both know that there is something so special together because the best impression we get is together. I wouldn’t want to stop that.

If Kelly Rowland gets the groups, what do you think she will provide you if you make it that far?

Sierra – If Kelly got the groups, she has the experience of being in a group.

Alex – Not just a group but one of the biggest groups of all time.

Sierra – And she knows what it takes to succeed. So even if we aren’t exactly her genre that doesn’t matter because the passion and knowledge she has would be amazing! It would be super cool. But all four judges have something to offer, they are all the judges for a reason, they have something to offer and all different things to offer. So I would be happy with anyone.

You did a Britney Spears song and she was a judge last year, would you like to take on a song from a judge this year?

Alex – I don’t think anything is off limits, we have talked about doing judges songs already to see what would be fun to do. I don’t think it matters whose song it is, it matters if it works for us… If t works for us, I think it works for everyone and I think we are going to approach things when the opportunities present itself.
