Microsoft retires brand 'Nokia', replaced by 'Microsoft Lumia'

Microsoft's decision, however, does not end once the Nokia brand, which will still be used by the Finnish company, now focused only on network infrastructure devices.

The decision does not come as a surprise, because when Microsoft announced it would stop making mobile phone running Android, the company's vice president Stephen Elop said "Nokia" would no longer be used as a trademark.
