Attack on bus leaves 28 passengers dead in Kenya

Twenty-eight bus passengers were killed Saturday morning in Kenya by a group of armed men in the northeast, near the border with Somalia, said the head of the police department Mandera, Noah Mwavinda.

Apparently, the terrorists stopped the bus diverting from the main road and selected passengers to shoot them, explained sources of local authority Standard newspaper.

"I can confirm that 28 innocent travelers have been brutally murdered by the shabab" Mwavinda said.

He said the attackers stopped the bus, took him away from the road and carried passengers who were not Muslims.

Representatives of Mandera County Council, which has been perpetrated the attack have blamed the central government for the no presence of security forces in an area of high risk target repeated attacks against the civilian population.
