NASA's Curiosity has taken a new selfie, assembled from dozens of separate images that were captured by the rover in January. The robotic rover Spirit captures a blue Martian sunset.

It’s likely you’re not one of the five British hopefuls aboard a manned mission to Mars – but don’t think that will deprive you of seeing a sunset on the Red Planet.
Thanks to a selection of photographs taken by NASA’s Opportunity rover, which has been roaming Mars collecting data since 2004, you too can see what it looks like when the Sun goes down on the Martian horizon – and it’s quite a sight.
The reason it’s blue is because the rust in the planet’s surface dust – which gives Mars its famous reddish appearance – scatters red light, which filters red wavelengths out of the path of light from the Sun, leaving only light at the blue end of the colour spectrum.
