Miss World 2013 Megan Young Nude Photo Scandal: Megan Young Miss World 2013 Could Lose Crown!!

Megan Young, Miss Philippines and last night's winner of Miss World 2013, has found herself in the midst of a nude photo controversy. The photos in question were not explicit, exposing only Miss Young's back

They were part of a 2012 bikini spread for a travel edition of highly respected Rogue magazine, which brands itself as Philippians’ only literary luxury magazine covering art, culture, fashion and interiors.

Several of the beauty queen’s advocates have stated that this is nothing more than a smear campaign aimed at trying to take away her crown. The Philippines’ pageant has strict rules that could potentially cause her to lose her title.

2011 pageant contestants Grendel Alvardo and Jenilyn Olivar were disqualified due to posing for nude photos which were only used as part of a breast cancer awareness campaign.

“’Rules are rules when it comes to the Miss World beauty contest it seems that contestants’ taking their clothes off is a clear breach of the laws,’ a user wrote to IBTimes UK on condition of anonymity.

Pageant organizers were forced to scrap bikinis in the beach category due to the host country’s ultra-conservative beliefs.

Despite threats from the Islamic Defenders Front to disrupt the contest, police said no rallies were staged Saturday.

Chairwoman of the Miss World Organization, Julia Morley, said at the time: “Indonesia is designing for us a very beautiful one-piece beachwear, and I’m very happy with them … I don’t think Indonesia is the only country that has (a conservative) culture … But we like to work in the manner respectful to every country, and I cannot see why when you go to somebody’s country you should not behave respectfully.”

Young, who took the crown from Wenxia Yu of China, the 2012 winner, was born in the United States. When she was 10 she moved to the Philippines, where she has appeared in films and as a television host.
