Big Brother star Brian Belo celebrating £1mn settlement-www.Tottenhamnews.org.

It's been revealed this weekend that former Big Brother winner Brian Belo – who's one of my Top Five BB favourites of all time – is celebrating having banked a cheque to the value of £1million after a lawsuit against ITV and Lime Pictures ended with the settlement.

“Belo, himself an Essex boy, claimed that the makers of the structured reality soap had adapted and reproduced part of a format he had originally developed with Sassy Films and Massive TV.”

In documents presented to the court during the hearing, Brian claimed that he had first presented the concept for the show to Lime Pictures back in 2009, and that he sent a video to ITV which featured some of the stars who went on to feature in TOWIE.

However, the paper adds, “A key part of ITV’s defence was that the concept developed by Belo, Sassy and Massive – called Totally Essex – was not a ‘dramality’ show like The Only Way is Essex, but a ‘fly on the wall documentary’.”
Since his victory was announced, Brian’s been inundated with messages of congratulation on Twitter, with former Big Brother housemate Chanelle Hayes remarking, “@brian_belo omg fabulous news lovely!!!!! Well done xxx”

WAG, model and former Celebrity Big Brother contestant Nicola McLean added, “So pleased for @brian_belo well done babe !”

The Twitter account of Celebrity Juice commented, “@MirrorTVNews @brian_belo well done Brian! Our favourite BB contestant ever and a lovely bloke x”

And Brian himself wrote, “Thank you to one of my best pals. Through the last three years @ChrisBradshawj .. Stood by me thru thick n thin. #truepal”

He later added, “Can I just say this last three years got to go to @DanielBradshaw1 @ChrisBradshawj @DanielSaich #thickNthin Now it’s about #saichysbaby”
